Meadowbrook Natural Surroundings

This open forested area is set between the highway and Sugarloaf, but borders forest on the southwest edge. The open spaces of the large parcels with some tree coverage create good wildlife movement areas for coyotes as well as many smaller mammals—raccoons, squirrels, bobcats and jack rabbits. The area also makes excellent hunting grounds for hawks and many smaller birds, such as scrub jays, flickers and finches.

Since this neighborhood sits on the eastern side of the valley, it receives less snowfall but more rain than further west. More space between the trees also allows any snow that does come to melt faster.
