Natural Surroundings

Along the lake shore of this Eagle Point peninsula it is easy to watch shorebirds and water fowl—egrets, great blue herons, sea gulls, white pelicans, coots and several types of ducks. The lake around the peninsula is shallow only for a short ways and drops off quickly to the depth of the center of the lake.

Pine trees stand throughout the area giving plenty of shade and woodsy feel. The wooded north shore stands out across the lake to give a scenic backdrop to the lake views. Before houses, the area was bald eagle habitat, so it is still possible to catch sight of one on occasion, either in a nearby treetop or eating a fish along the shoreline.
