Lake Williams – LWL (area)
Area Overview
This area in the farthest southeast corner of the valley sits out of the way of the mainstream and away from all other development. Since it is the farthest down Highway 38, residents have the easiest down the hill access of anywhere in the valley and beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes.
- Open sky views of surrounding forested hillsides
- Newer, modern homes
- Good-sized lots
- Quiet, away from it all
- Easy down the hill access
Natural Surroundings
The area is surrounded on all sides by National Forest, giving it great views of the forested hillsides to the west and south and of the open landscape to the northeast. All types of wildlife from the nearby forest have been known to wander through, from deer and black bears to raccoons and hawks. Both the Pacific Crest trail and the Sugarloaf Mountain trail are nearby.
This area often catches the snow that comes over Onyx Summit even when other parts of the east valley do not, though it still gets less snow than the west end. Two large wilderness areas–Bighorn Wilderness and San Gorgonio Wilderness—are set on forest land a bit down the hill to the east and south.
